A PPD rating does not mean your claim is closed.

Many injured workers believe their workers' comp case is closed after the Employer/Insurer pays a PPD rating. That is not the case in Georgia. Until you reach a full and final settlement of your case, your workers' comp claim still remains open even after the PPD rating is paid. The workers' comp carrier is required to continue to pay for your medical treatment and may still even be required to pay for your income benefits even after you reach MMI and a PPD rating is paid. If you have any questions about the status of your case or your PPD rating, contact experienced Atlanta workers' comp attorney Brian H. Sumrall at (404) 857-3835 or visit
