Suitable offer of light duty employment on a WC-240.

In Georgia, an employer may offer an injured worker a light duty job by sending a WC-240 Notice to Employee of Offer of Suitable Light Duty Employment. The job description attached to the form should be approved by the authorized treating physician and the WC-240 form should state when and where the injured worker should return to work. Under the Georgia Workers' Compensation Act, an injured worker who refuses to attempt to return to work following a valid offer of suitable light duty employment may face suspension of his income benefits. The law pertaining to offers of light duty employement is somewhat complicated. If your employer has sent you a job offer on a WC-240 form and you have questions about the validity of the job offer, contact Atlanta workers' compensation attorney Brian H.
