Am I eligible to recover lost wages?
If it can be determined by your doctor that you are temporarily unable to work or disabled, called Temporary Total Disability Benefits (TTD), you could recover 2/3 of your normal pay as compensation, up to $800 a week for 400 weeks. If you have been permanently disabled and no longer able to work in any capacity, you could be entitled to lifetime workers' compensation benefits.
Payment of lost wages will start when the following conditions are met:
- The employee's claim has been accepted as work-related
- More than 7 days have been missed from work with a 21 day waiting period on initial payment of benefits
- The employee is missing work and has a work status form saying they are unable to work or only able to work in a limited capacity and no light duty work is available
